Sales/Business Development Manager - Maternity cover

As the sales/Business Development Manager of the Chateau Impney Hotel, part of the Greyfort Group, you will have the vision to develop into an inspiring individuals, providing exceptional customer service and experiences which constantly exceed expectations.

You will sell the Hotel, Exhibition Centre and the Hill Climb across varied market sectors through proactive sales activity. The role will be field based focusing on new business exploiting exceptional sales skills with effective and successful results. You will identify and pursue new business sales opportunities both by use of the company database, networking, B2B opportunities, exhibitions and client entertainment.

The company now offers a stylish setting for weddings and events with extensive conferencing and exhibition facilities, including the Regent centre, which is one of the largest exhibition spaces in the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

Team leadership

To be proactive in delivering the teams objectives

Customer service

  • Ensure team members understand customer needs and deliver the expected outcomes
  • Regularly review work processes for areas of improvement
  • Advise clients of other products and the wider Greyfort Group
  • To meet with clients to build relationships with existing clients

Operational management

To deliver the hotel sales plan, whilst monitoring progress throughout the year, issuing forecasts and reacting to shortfalls with recovery plans/initiatives.   This will be through

  • Proactively ‘hunt’ for new sales opportunities
  • Develop business within corporate, conference and group leisure markets
  • Looking for Sponsorship opportunity
  • Undertake regular competitor analysis assessing rates, promotions
  • Continually research the market to ensure that the company rates are competitive
  • Effective account management of defined accounts utilising the dual Brands
  • Negotiate rates and contract terms with key customers
  • Produce statistics and management reports regularly

Relationship management

  • To represent the company at appropriate trade exhibitions and conferences
  • Organise, host and co-host hospitality events for all key local and national decision makers
  • Build working relations with local attractions and tourist boards
  • Create, promote and sustain a sales aw3areness culture

Health and safety

Ensure staff are informed of and trained in safe practices and procedures in their specific areas of work.

To comply with statutory and Company regulations relating to health and safety, food hygiene, licensing regulations, fire procedures and security of premises and property
