Sales Executive – Maternity cover

As a Conference & Banqueting Sales Executive you will be responsible for proactively selling the Hotel and Exhibition Centre whilst providing excellent customer service, working accurately, efficiently and effectively to quality standards set by the management team. You will work closely with the Sales Office Manager to meet targets as well as account manage new and existing clients.

Hours of work: Includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Key Responsibilities

Team leadership

To be pro active in delivering the teams objectives

Customer service

  • Regularly review work processes for areas of improvement
  • Advise clients of other products and the wider Greyfort Group
  • To build effective relationships and manage accounts with booking agents and corporate clients

Operational management

  • Deliver clear communication and co-ordination of all conferences and events, which includes weddings, private functions and conference business, ensuring successful service delivery of all events
  • To have a good overall understanding and knowledge of the Hotel and its conference and exhibition facilities
  • To have a full knowledge of the Hotel PMS system, departmental systems, procedures and standards
  • Ensure data entry is clear and concise in line with KPI targets set by the Sales Office Manager
  • Proactively identify upselling opportunities in order to continuously grow conference and event revenue
  • Produce accurate function sheets for each event with clear billing instructions and communication of these to the operations team, updating any amends or changes
  • Convert enquiries that come through the Sales Office and meet conversion targets set by the Sales Office Manager
  • Conduct show rounds for conferences, weddings and banqueting events, ensuring that accurate information is given to the appropriate enquiry
  • To comply with company image standards
  • To maintain confidentiality on all business matters at all times

Relationship management

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key clients 
  • Alerting the Sales Team to opportunities for further sales with key clients
  • Establish and maintain active and constructive relationships with other teams in the organisation, with a close working relationship with operations.
  • The people skills required to deal with challenging clients
  • Ability to communicate with employee and clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Negotiate with others and resolve conflicts, particularly in sensitive situations
  • Liaise effectively with colleagues in the operations team to ensure customer demands and operational requirements are always fully known and evaluated
  • To be flexible with shift patterns in line with the needs of the business

Health and safety

  • Ensure you are informed of and trained in safe practices and procedures in their specific areas of work.
  • To comply with statutory and Company regulations relating to health and safety, food hygiene, licensing regulations, fire procedures and security of premises and property
