We were proud to host the wedding of Aaron Gregson and Francis Price, the first gay couple to be married at Chateau Impney Hotel, on 23 August 2014.
Aaron and Francis first met 12 years ago at a party in Francis’ home town of Sevenoaks, but have lived together in Droitwich for nine years. They had followed the progress of the hotel’s multimillion pound refurbishment over the last two years, and decided that the Chateau would be the dream location for their wedding.
Aaron said that “the planning and the event itself all went like clockwork,” and the couple’s friends played a very important part throughout the day. A close friend of Aaron’s, who he has known for over 20 years, conducted the ceremony and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The host of the party where Aaron and Francis originally met was also one of their witnesses.
The couple chose to incorporate their own specially created dishes into the wedding breakfast, including specially commissioned sausages and a luxurious chocolate mousse with raspberry. Many of their guests stayed the night before the wedding, and were very impressed by the hotel and the newly refurbished Impney Apartments. After the wedding, Aaron and Francis spent their honeymoon in Canada and Los Angeles.
We were delighted to host their wedding – a truly special day that will go down in Chateau Impney history!
