The best thing about working at Chateau Impney is …

I get to work on different things every day. One day, I could be the master of ceremonies at a wedding with over 200 people in attendance, and the next, I could be looking after VIPs at a comedy night. No two days are ever the same, and I get to meet some truly amazing people.

If I could choose to swap jobs for a day with anyone else at the Chateau, it would be …

I’d swap with Jimmy, the head groundskeeper. Although I enjoy taking care of our function guests, it can be quite hectic, and every now and again, I’d like to be able to take some time to really enjoy the splendour of the gardens and grounds.

My favourite part of the hotel is …

The oak-carved Jacobean staircase, which has been part of the Chateau since it was originally built in the 1870s, is my favourite area of the hotel. I particularly love the stained glass windows that feature Chaucer, Shakespeare and Spenser.

The one place in Droitwich or Worcestershire that our guests should visit is …

Hanbury Hall and Gardens can be found just down the road. It’s a National Trust property, which means it’s ideal for families, and there are usually plenty of activities to take part in throughout the year.

My favourite dish on the Chateau menu is …

The seared duck breast with port and Montmorency cherry sauce is an absolute must. It’s so succulent – just how duck should be. Plus, our rosemary-roasted new potatoes make the perfect accompaniment.

The one local event you shouldn’t miss when you stay at the Chateau is …

I’m really looking forward to our very own Halloween evening, Rocky Horror Halloween at the Chateau. We’re delighted to welcome the Mocky Horror Tribute Show, one of the best Rocky Horror tributes in the country, who will be putting their own unique spin on a Halloween classic.
