Chateau’s renowned Tapas on the Terrace is back! June 3 2019 - September 19 2019

We’ve teamed up with Dal Tamber from Fancier Cakes, one of our expert wedding partners, to find out more about 2017’s bold and beautiful wedding cake trends.
The wedding cake is one of the most important parts of your special day, and one of the most photographed moments – so you’ll want your cake to look its best!
At Chateau Impney, we work with a number of fantastic partners who know the latest wedding trends inside-out, and have lots of great advice. When it comes to wedding cakes, there’s nobody who’s in the know more than Dal from Fancier Cakes.
Next year’s trends are all about introducing striking colours or bold graphics into your cake’s design. Ombré designs are particularly fashionable at the moment, using different shades of edible watercolour on buttercream to achieve a stunning look in your chosen colours.
For a more intricate design, why not consider a hand-painted wedding cake? You could choose a large, vivid design like a floral pattern, or personalise the cake with script or a monogram.
If you really want to make a statement, then a cake with metallic tiers is a must! Icing is given a lustred finish, but if you want a truly decadent look, you could opt for gold and silver leaf.
For those of you who have included metallic colours in your theme and want a cake with a totally unique style, then a chocolate drip cake is the perfect choice. The cake is finished with buttercream and drips of rich chocolate, painted with vivid colours and decorated with edible treats. No cake looks the same!
However, if you fancy something a little more rustic, then a semi-naked cake is the way to go. In a semi-naked cake, each sponge tier can be seen through a thin layer of buttercream. The cake is then decorated with seasonal fresh fruits and flowers for a truly gorgeous down-to-earth look.
We hope these stunning designs have inspired you – if you’re searching for the perfect cake to complete your special day, contact Fancier Cakes for more information.
